Resurrection Medical Center embarked on a multi-phase campus redevelopment beginning in 1994. A Campus Master Landscape Plan was devised as the touchstone document to create a cohesive aesthetic as the campus renovations spanned nearly two decades and to address the stringent requirements of the property's City of Chicago Planned Development ordinance.

Working with the facilities staff as each phase of the Master Plan is implemented insures the ongoing maintenance continues to create the aesthetic originally conceived. The overall result is a campus that is low maintenance and aesthetically coherent.

The Southwest Parking Structure Addition was a major component in the two decade modernization of Resurrection Medical Center. The landscape design focused on providing an entry experience for pedestrians making their way from the parking structure to the hospital entrance. Pedestrian safety was of paramount importance as the outpatient entrance and the day care drop-off all feed from the vehicular circulation in this area. A gardenesque design concept was implemented using planter boxes on the parking structure, perennial planting beds along walkways and large shade trees to provide dappled shade along the path.
